More Intros! [09 Dec 2009|03:09pm]

[hawkblood]
Hi, all! It's Trace and I'm introducing two new chars. =D

This is Ryan Greene ([info]hawkblood). He's 17 and he will be a student finishing his junior year. He ran away from home because his army doctor parents wanted him to hide his mutation forever and follow in their footsteps! Actually he flew away from home, because that mutation is him morphing into a Hawk. And actually he reallyreally wants to be a surgeon, more than anything! He's studied and practiced a lot to that effect, he just didn't want to do it on their terms. That being said, he's spent his whole life pretty much doing what was expected of him, and he likes the approval of others (mainly adults). This is the first time he's shown any real independence. And it's the first time he's ever met other mutants. There is one small hitch, of course. Although he mostly just changes into a hawk all at once, when he's in human form he can access some of the hawk's traits. Mainly, if he sees you as competition, he can be territorial. If he sees you as weak, he thinks you're prey. And that means he might try to eat you. He is just as freaked out about those urges as anyone else, and he's REALLY SORRY if he bites you or hurts you with his talons! Last note: when he's upset or embarrassed or very flustered, his back breaks out in feathers. And they kind of sit there uselessly until he chills out and then they just fall everywhere and make a mess. He's pretty self-conscious about that. =/

And then there's Sal ([info]mindframe). He's coming to be the Yearbook Teacher. In his spare time, he's a portrait photographer who also bakes cakes and pastries. And then on the side, he does pretty much every hobby there is! He takes up a lot of projects, becomes obsessed with them, perfects them, and then drops them. His powers are twofold. One, he can make eye contact and hypnotize his subjects. This can make them do things, or simply believe things. He isn't telepathic, but he can make you tell him what's on your mind. He can't move you, but he can make you move yourself, etc. And best of all, you'll think it was your idea! His other little gift is the ability to grab you and make you stay still, no matter what. Hence his codename, Vise. So even if you try to avoid his eyes, you can't get away. I'm thinking he won't be running around bragging about the eye powers anyway because that makes them less effective. He'll probably try to get away with saying he has vise grip and leave it at that. Those who volunteer to sit for his photos will probably encounter these little manipulations fastest, since he can't seem to keep them out of his work, and doesn't particularly find it immoral to use them on others ~for the sake of art~. He's easygoing as a teacher, and he's probably more relaxed in the classroom than anywhere else.

I really want to go ice skating in Rockefeller Center but I don't know how to skate. Somebody should have the sort of mutant power where you can take skills from one person and put them in someone else. That would be so cool.

So who is all going home for the holidays? Anyone?

It's quite deceiving as im feeling the flesh make me bad. (Open to Emma) [08 Dec 2009|10:56pm]

[yearns]
Alex was hungry. Which wasn't a surprise, really -- he lived in a perpetual state of hunger, had never really known anything else. Ever since he was a baby it had been that way. That need for energy consuming him, always there, never satisfied. Never full. There were just different degrees of need for him, and right now he was edging toward something bad. It was getting colder out at night, more and more, and that always meant there was less for him to find. Less people out, less random groups to pull from when he was sitting out by bars and corner stores. It had been too long. The night before last, some random john had actually let him stay in the room he was originally just going to rent hourly, even though the guy had to leave. Given the weather, Alex had opted to take that over going out and working more. But the next day, people had been staying in. For whatever reason, the areas that were his most recent usual haunts were on the empty side. Energies were low, at best. And then that night he'd gotten chased off by cops, spent his night ducking through alleyways and ending up in some warehouse district. Then today was slow, and now he was really starting to feel the effects. His joints ached, he felt like he had needles stored up in bunches behind his eyes. His skin was slowly becoming more and more sensitive, feverish and too aware of every touch to it. He knew what he looked like, too. Hunger like this would hollow out his cheeks more, put dark smudges beneath his eyes, make his movements jerkier and slower. Like a junkie needing a fix.

Really though, that worked for him right now. Desperate looks attracted certain people. People who knew he wouldn't charge much, would probably do anything for ten bucks.

He got lucky, was only waiting out near the subway entrance for about 15 minutes before he was approached. Some older guy, wirey looking, probably hadn't bathed in a week. He smelled like cheap cigarettes and bad food and grease. And something felt off about him. Sinister. It was the type of person that Alex went for normally, in situations like these. It wouldn't take much to turn a normal transaction into something bad, and bad things generally meant good feeding. This was the type of guy who felt like he might be out looking for some street kid to stab, just because he could. Alex wouldn't feel bad about biting him.

He didn't like to feed that way. Taking someone's blood like that. It was likely the most satisfying way to feed that he had, but he hated the feel of his mind mixing with another's. Mostly because the minds of others all tended to be bad. He didn't exactly hang around the best examples of society, and getting to feel every oily thought of a pervert like this was not Alex's idea of a good time. But he was hungry, and he needed it. So he moved down the stairs of the subway, headed with the guy towards a nearby bathroom, almost numb to the crawling sensation that the skin at his lower back felt when the man's hand pressed against it.

HEY ITS ASH.

This is my new char, his name is Alex. He doesn't have a last name or any papers or anything. He's been a street kid for as long as he remembers; no clue who his parents were, or even where he's actually from. He's going to be coming to Xavier's pretty soon -- I'm up for either someone finding him (who'd know he was a student, duh) and bringing him to the school, or Xavier finding him mentally. LET ME KNOW IF YOURE INTERESTED! His powers work two ways. Primarily, he drains energy from people, psychically, emotionally, via blood, or via sex. He's always starving for it, and it's almost always the motivation behind whatever he's doing. Cause of that, he can tend to try and get people riled, proposition them, or just plain follow strong ones around and slowly drain them. FUN TIMES. He'll be in the SpEd classes cause for real, kid is book-dumb like crazy. Comes from, you know, never being in a school. And he'll end up with a note from Walter to get him out of PE cause some of his bones and joints aren't that great (suckers!). So nyah nyah there, mwah ha. He's not a RAAARRR ANGRY ANGST KID but you probably shouldn't trust him cause he'd sell you out/steal from you/cheat you/lie to you in a heartbeat. So yeah, should be fun all around. More info in his profile, etc etc, LETS PLOT.

two for the price of one! [08 Dec 2009|09:40am]

[overwhelms]
Zoe here, with two new characters to introduce you guys to. Because I didn't already have so many that I needed two more!~

This is Ramona Hollins, codename Overdrive (like in FFX). She also answers to Mona. She's a 17-year-old from Omaha with the ability to boost other mutants' powers -- and if she's really careful, she can do it in a useful way, but most often being boosted by Mona just means that your powers suddenly get wildly strong before getting out of your control. She's like the match that lights the firecracker you were holding in your hands before you could let go of it, and then it explodes in your face. :| Long family story short, her older half-brother was a huge dick, and she ran away from home when she was fifteen to go live with her also mutant boyfriend. They were together for two years and he thought they were going to get married one day, until she dumped him two days ago without much explanation and hopped on a Greyhound to Xavier's! She'll be arriving soon with the pamphlet in hand. Mona is very independent, a wacky free-spirit type, and people tend to think she's much older than 17. And she has legs that go on forever. Her full profile is here!

[info]minusplus is Vanya Sokolof, codename Charge. He's 25 (26 next month) and coming all the way from St. Petersburg in Russia to be Xavier's new History teacher! His powers are that he's basically a human battery: he absorbs electrical voltage from any wiring or machines and converts it to natural energy in order to survive, and it builds up in his system. If he doesn't get enough, he gets sick, and if he builds up too much without working it off through physical exercise, he gets sick too. He can't actually do anything with the energy! It does make him a little bit magnetic, though. Keep your keys to yourself. He can also do this neat little trick where he siphons off some of your brain's electrical patterns and can read what's literally going through your mind. ;D Vanya is very Russian academic, in a nutshell. He grew up on a very rural farm so he spent most of his life sick from his mutation, then got moved into the city to live with an uncle and get better medical care. A government geneticist figured out what was wrong with him. He just graduated from St Petersburg State University and applied to a teaching exchange program, but the Russians turned his application down because he was a mutant sooo he figured he'd just go where the mutants are, anyway. He's very...serious. Strict, extremely disciplined, unyielding! He will probably not give you a generous extension on your paper. Even with his fellow teachers, his fail social skills will undoubtedly get in the way of him making a ton of friends. Feel free to try though! His full profile is here.

Please don't forget to add them!

Please go here and let us know if you still want the holds there, if you've held things.

Please go here and make sure all the info is correct about your char (and that your char is up there in general).

Please go here and then tag HERE if you feel that your character should advance to the next team level.

Please go here and if your character is training under Cal, see if they still should be based on time limit. Let us know if they need to be moved on.

Please go here and make sure your character's bday is correct, up there, and the age is right.

Please go here to make sure your character is in the right area of the mansion.

Finally please tag here if you have characters that you are dropping or have dropped and we haven't adjusted to yet. SCRATCH THAT. Please tag with what chars you ARE keeping. We'll check again in two weeks and anyone not listed is being removed. You don't have to update right away, just tell us that you're keeping them. Thanks!

Comments are screened!

Edit: Good point was made! The two months of the AU world do NOT count as far as the 6 months for training with Cal goes.

Lift up your hearts, all will come right. [Narrative] [07 Dec 2009|07:08pm]

beyond_evo

[fathersgun]
Renegade hadn't wanted to say it, but he was no longer sure what to do.

The Phoenix wasn't with the Intruders anymore, it had disappeared when Jean had. His team had been able to successfully stop certain things that they'd come to prevent -- other things he couldn't be sure were even set in motion to happen anymore. And now what? They were treading water here, living with the other residents of Xavier's School for the Gifted, becoming more and more comfortable every day. Getting used to this place.

That was dangerous.

They couldn't stay here. He knew that. And he knew that his team was aware of it too, even if no one wanted to truly think about it. Not in the light of getting to know their parents, of getting to live in a world that hadn't been ravaged and destroyed. He understood not wanting to go back to their future. He didn't want that either. There was nothing for them there, and there was everything for them here. Except that being here held everyone else back. He knew their parents couldn't really be free to make the very choices that would end up making their children into who they were if they were impeded by trying to be their children's peers at the same time. He and Nate's being here had killed their father. The admission of Deacon's heritage had made his parents balk at the idea of a future together. It wasn't right that they were here, but there was no way to change that anymore.

The universe worked in mysterious ways, though. And just as Chris was sitting in his room, thinking over all of that for what felt like the millionth time, the answer presented itself.

It came in the form of a short, balding man. Slightly overweight, with odd hair and even stranger clothing -- a vest and a pocketwatch, of all things. Chris was too stunned by the sudden presence to even react. It didn't last though. A moment later, and a gun was in his hand, trained on the tiny person. Who simply held up a hand and smiled. "There's no need for that. Christopher Summers, you and your friends have become unhinged in time. There has been a break, a change in this world that has removed yours from its path. You no longer have a world to return to." What Chris could only describe as a long metal bracer suddenly appeared on his arm, a glowing purple jewel in the center. "You have a week before you are taken from this world. I am the Timebroker, and if I could only have a few moments of your time, I can explain everything to you..."

How fucking weird is this? You'd think there'd be someone with a mutation that could fix this kind of brain thing. I wonder if she's gonna switch back ever.

I'm not talking about Eudora for a change either.

Hello everyone, I am Jeanne-Marie Beaubier. I have been at your school for a few days now and I would like to say that it seems lovely. You have a wonderful teaching institution here. Thank you again for your hospitality.

There seems to be a lot of clothing left in my room from its previous occupant, unfortunately. Would anyone like to look through them before I give them to Goodwill? I certainly am not interested in keeping them.

WHAT: John comes stomping into the rec room after being sprayed by a younger kid with some sort of blue substance. Rogue just so happens to be watching television in there at the time so laughs and hanging out ensue.

I have to admit that I'm warming up to Thanksgiving. The amounts of food you people consume is disgusting, but the whole concept of a traditional American holiday with family doesn't seem so absurd anymore. Horrible. You're all rubbing off on me.
